Over the past 2 years Labarre has helped me control the symptoms of osteo arthritis as well as maintain core stability and balance. She is very professional and always well-prepared for our sessions. I would gladly recommend her to anyone in need of a biokineticist.

Labarre has overseen my rehabilitation process with the utmost professionalism. I really could not have asked for a better biokineticist. She is very friendly and very understanding of all the struggles associated with overcoming an injury. Her practice is always clean and the receptionists are very welcoming. Would highly recommend!

Both my children were diagnosed with Scoliosis a few years ago. After consulting with numerous other specialists in the field with not much improvement, we found Labarre during covid just after the lockdown levels were lowered. Labarre has truly changed our lives for the better. Her knowledge in scoliosis, expertise, empathy, and dedication have transformed my children’s scoliosis journey into a positive and empowering experience. We’re grateful for her guidance and support, which have made a profound impact on their well-being. Thank you Labarre, for your exceptional care and commitment. We are incredibly grateful for the impact you have made on our lives.

I started my sessions with Labarre at the beginning of the year and it has already been life changing! I suffered with pain for a long time, and in just a few weeks we have managed to make such progress already and I am so relieved to not have any pain anymore, whatsover. I have many years’ problems to correct, and I actually just thought it would be like this for the rest of my life, but I have been pleasantly surprised from very early on in my sessions with her.
I can highly recommend this practice. Maddy who handles the administration is very friendly and efficient, and Labarre is really good at what she does and also such a pleasant person. The best there is!

Labarré is a wonderful biokineticist with a passion for what she does. She has been working with my daughter for about 6 months now and my daughter loves their sessions. We have a daily exercise program and receive hydrotherapy weekly as well. The improvement in my daughters development, posture and muscle strength is amazing and she has also experienced a dramatic reduction in pain, specifically joint pain. I recommend Labarré and René as they both listen and are knowledgeable in their field.

Anyone who has experienced a debilitating muscular back injury knows it is no fun at all, however, after an 8-week rehabilitation and strengthening programme with Labarre I’m now able to play #Golf with confidence once again. With Lazarre’s help I now understand my body and its limitations better, she taught me how to have a more sustainable golf swing that will prevent injury. Labarre is exceptionally knowledgeable, and I refer her with confidence.

Please see our About page to read about what the difference between a Biokineticist & Physiotherapist is. And when to see which one. However, most patients can be treated by a Biokineticist, the method we use just differs from that of other healthcare practitioners. The following are examples of when you can book with us.
Orthopaedic injuries:
- After any orthopaedic injury. After your physiotherapy sessions. Or when the pain and swelling is down. Not when you have swelling, bruising or deformity of a body part.
- Before and after an orthopaedic surgery i.e. shoulder, hip, knee or ankle operation.
- After you have been to your physiotherapist. Even if they have given you exercises to do, you need to make sure that you complete your rehabilitation all the way to the final phase. Biokineticist are movement specialists and can assist you especially in returning to your work, sport etc.
Chronic conditions:
- If you have a chronic condition that affects your heart, lungs, or body in a way that requires you to take chronic medication. Such as diabetes, hypertension or high blood pressure, high cholesterol, asthma, fibromyalgia, multiple sclerosis, parkinsons etc.
Other body related injuries or conditions:
- Advice and guidance on improving muscle strength, flexibility, balance or fitness.
- Guidance on injury prevention or other aspects of musculoskeletal health and fitness.
- Improve your physical performance for sport.

Typical first session:
A thorough history will be taken as part of the subjective interview. The aim of the interview is to get a clear picture of your problem, to ascertain your expectations and goals are. This is also done to streamline your physical assessment. A thorough physical assessment is then performed to enable us to rule out certain conditions. To get closer to movement daignosis, whilst looking for the underlying causes.
Follow-up sessions:
At follow-up sessions, a short re-assessments may be performed, where after the appropriate treatment and rehabilitative exercises will commence. Your current exercise therapy program is adapted as needed.
The number of follow-up sessions, as well as how far apart these appointments are booked, depends on various things. Such as the type of condition that is being treated, standard protocols and patient goals.
Success of treatments depends on how compliant the patient is in completing their exercise therapy program. Ans avoiding certain aggravating activities while using the correct medication if required.
Please note: Each patient is defferent and needs an individual approach to their injury, pain, chronic condition etc. Although we have standardized procedures, we aim to treat as individualized as possible.
Our clinical exercise therapy is aimed at reducing your pain.
With our knowledge of exercise medicine, we can tailor the rehabilitation exercises to your unique injury / needs. In order to reduce pain while still improving in muscle strength, flexibility and functionality.
You will not be expected to engage in any exercises that elicit more pain. We will continue to communicate pain levels during the exercise session to ensure that you are experiencing as little pain as possible.
Our prescribed exercises are guided by medical research and will assist you with your pain and difficulty moving. There are a few ways that we can assist you so that you will still be able to engage in the exercise program even if you have pain.
If we see that conservative treatment = exercise therapy is not reducing your pain and improving your function. We guide you along other options and choices of treatments.
